At its heart, "Farzi" is the story of Sunny (Shahid Kapoor), a brilliant but disillusioned street artist who helps manage his grandfather's (Amol Palekar) outdated printing press in Mumbai. Facing crippling financial hardship and witnessing the stark divide between the rich and poor, Sunny devises a desperate and ingenious plan: to create the perfect counterfeit currency note.
The word "Farzi" translates to "Fake" in Hindi and Urdu. The plot revolves around (played by Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor in his OTT debut), a struggling but brilliant artist who turns to counterfeiting money to save his grandfather’s printing press. Alongside his best friend, Firoz (Vijay Sethupathi’s son in the story, actually played by Bhuvan Arora), Sunny creates the perfect fake note.
